Chocolate Bronze Violet Review - @thegraciefiles_

If you follow me on Instagram you would know that I recently tried out the Bella Bronze Violet Dark Choc Bronze Mousse as well as the brand’s body wash and body lotion (and if you don’t follow me on Instagram you totally should to see frequent beauty flatlays, what I receive in the mail plus other bits and pieces on my story. You’ll find me at @thegraciefiles_). Bella Bronze were so kind to send me their products to try and as usual this post is not sponsored – just my honest opinion!

As an experienced self tanner, there is a certain criteria I rate a tan on: application, colour, longevity and the removal process. So, how did the Bella Bronze tan stack up?

Application
I personally always prefer to use a mousse because I find the application process a lot easier and less messy than sprays and other formulas. In saying that, some mousses definitely apply and spread better than others. The Bella Bronze mousse glided over my skin like a dream and had an amazing dark colour guide so I could actually see where I was applying the tan! What’s with tans without a colour guide by the way… they are like an automatic set up for failure and patchiness. I applied the tan with a mitt to ensure I had the most even application possible and so that my hands didn’t stain.

Colour
When you first apply the tan it instantly turns your skin a beautiful chocolate colour that deepens over time to reveal the most amazing, natural looking tan. Leaving the tan on for an hour will reveal a light tan, two hours a medium tan and three a darker tan; however I actually sleep in mine since tans take a little more time to develop on my skin. Another amazing thing about this tan is that it doesn’t get all over your clothes (or in my case PJ’s) and sheets!

Longevity
This tan lasts me well over a week without going patchy and looking yuck – the only place it will start to fade is my hands and feet as I wash my hands around 200 times per day and wear a lot of inclosed shoes at the moment because, well, winter. I think the tan lasted so well because I used the Bella Bronze body wash and moisturiser each day. The body wash was effective, yet super gentle and didn’t strip my tan while the moisturiser locked in the hydration to ensure my tan didn’t go patchy.

Removal
The part I dread the most at the end of my week is the tan removal process. Tans always cling to my skin and refuse to leave even when I soak my skin and scrub so hard to the point where I am left red raw. This is why I was so surprised when my Bella Bronze tan just came off with an exfoliating mitt. I can’t even explain how easy it is to remove this tan! I think I’m still in shock about it to be honest purely because I have had some real disasters when it comes to removing tans in the past.
